Professional Career & Mini Bio
Professor Dr. Elena Sernova teaches CFA preparation classes at Master level at Business School Lausanne (BSL). She also supervises theses of Master students.
Prof. Dr. Sernova has more than 20 years of managerial and research experience. For a number of years she has been doing research in bond portfolio optimization and index composition for asset management funds in California, as well as consulting for a number of Russian brokerages. She has worked at the EMFI trading and research in JPMorgan in London and has supervised FX trading at a Russian bank. She has also worked as the head of Moscow office of GRC Group in the U.S.
Prof. Dr. Sernova has taught classes in finance and mathematics at Masters in a variety of universities. She has worked on MBA and CFA online preparation classes and has coached for CFA, CIIA, CAIA and FRM certification.
Prof. Dr. Sernova has an MSc in Math from Moscow State University, a diploma in Economics and Banking from the London School of Economics, and a PhD in Finance with thesis on bond portfolio optimization from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA.
