Professional Career & Mini Bio
With more than 25 years of professional experience, Dr. Ghazi Kablouti is a bridge builder between academic research, lecturing and managerial practice. As corporate manager and senior advisor, he is accelerating the transformations of industry-leading, multinational corporations to deliver economic value by managing risks and capturing the opportunities arising from unprecedented social and environmental challenges.
He started his career at Robert Bosch in Germany and in the UK and served as product manager, global portfolio manager, and global corporate responsibility director in Alstom Power. Before founding and leading XRG (Exergy) Management and Impact Advisory working with companies such as Henkel, Novartis or BMW, he served as the global sustainability programs director at the General Electric Headquarters in Switzerland and the US.
Combining a multi-cultural and interdisciplinary academic background, Dr. Kablouti has lived and worked on four continents, and is fluent in Arabic, English, French, and German. He holds a master’s degree in aerospace engineering and technology management from the University of Stuttgart (Germany) and a PhD in management, strategy, and business administration from the university of St. Gallen (Switzerland). In 2011 he joined the Science and Policy of Global Change Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as post-doc visiting scholar.
Dr. Kablouti is an active action researcher, he (co-) authored more than 20 academic and business publications and has been invited periodically to speak at top international conferences in the field of strategic and systemic management, managing the energy transition, decarbonizing high-impact industrial sectors, and international business ethics. As Professor at the business school Lausanne and senior lecturer at the ZHAW School of Management and Law in Zurich, he is also continuously supervising research theses at all academic levels.
He lives in Switzerland and is voluntary engaged on advising technology-based entrepreneurs in Africa as well as building the next generation of leaders as lecturer at the United Global People network of entrepreneurs and across business schools in developing countries. In 2012, he was a founding member of the “Alstom Chair in Clean Energy Systems” at the Witwatersrand University in South Africa.
