A Global Hub for Education and Innovation

Switzerland has ranked #1 in the Global Innovation Index every year since 2011 (WIPO & Cornell). This success is fueled by its deep investment in research, high-quality education, and strong public-private collaboration. It’s no surprise the country attracts some of the most ambitious minds in academia and business.

BSL, located in Lausanne, is surrounded by internationally acclaimed institutions such as the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), the renowned design school ECAL, and international organizations including CERN, the United Nations, and the World Economic Forum in nearby Geneva. This network offers students access to thought leaders, industry experts, and countless real-world learning opportunities.

Why Lausanne?

BSL is based in Lausanne, a city that stands out for its dynamic economy, innovation culture, and commitment to sustainability. Just an hour from Geneva Airport, with trains every 30 minutes, Lausanne is exceptionally well connected. EPFL is only a 10-minute walk from our campus.

Named the #1 Small City in the World by The Independent in 2019 and #19 in the QS Best Student Cities ranking (2023), Lausanne is also the smallest city in the world with a metro system — no small feat for a city of just 140,000 people. As the Olympic Capital, it hosts the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and over 50 international sports federations, giving it a truly global character.

Switzerland’s pristine environment and highly efficient infrastructure make it an ideal place to focus on academic pursuits while enjoying a high standard of living. Students benefit from easy access to Lake Geneva and the Alps, live in a multilingual society (French, German, Italian, and English), and enjoy a safe, clean, and welcoming atmosphere. The country also offers year-round cultural, sporting, and international events, adding to its appeal.

Home to Global Leaders

The Swiss economy is strong and diverse, home to world-renowned companies such as Nestlé (ranked the most valuable food brand in 2023), based in nearby Vevey. The region also hosts numerous multinational corporations and cutting-edge startups in fintech, biotech, and clean energy. This vibrant ecosystem provides BSL students with practical case studies, internship opportunities, and career options after graduation.
