BSL is listed under WHED ID IAU-024014 in the World Higher Education Database (WHED).
The World Higher Education Database (WHED) is the IAU (International Association of Universities) unique online reference portal that provides authoritative information on some 19,800 accredited higher education institutions as well as on higher education systems and credentials in 196 countries and territories. It is globally recognized as an official source of information.
IAU has been collecting this data since its foundation in 1950. The WHED has evolved constantly to meet the needs of the global higher education community. The WHED team collects, processes, validates and publishes comprehensive and detailed higher education data on the portal on a continuous basis. It is a collaborative project with UNESCO.

UN Global Compact
UN Global Compact (UNGC) was officially launched on the 26th of July, 2000 by Mr. Kofi Annan, then-Secretary-General of the UN Organization. The aim of UN Global Compact, based in New York, is to develop CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and sustainability in the corporate world, through annual Communications on Progress. UNGC has grown to more than 8’000 participants, including over 6,000 businesses in 135 countries.
BSL has committed to the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact since 2006 and is an associate member of the Swiss local network.

Association Vaudoise des Ecoles Privées
Founded in 1940, the Association Vaudoise des Ecoles Privées (AVDEP) has approximately 50 member schools, attended by over 13’000 students and pupils.
The Swiss Private Model
Public Universities
To elaborate further, Swiss public universities are managed by the state and the degrees are equally issued by the state or a state-run governing entity.
Students often opt for public universities if they wish to study in an environment with a large array of permanent faculty members and large classes as government-subsidized tuition fees allow more students to apply.
The teaching approach is wholly theoretical and often taught by professors who have carried out research and long been associated with the academic world but rarely with the professional world of private companies and employment.
Private Business Schools
Private business schools, on the other hand, offer small classes and are not government-subsidized. They can achieve accreditation for their programs from international bodies such as IACBE, EDUQUA, and AASBI.
Faculty at private business schools usually work on a part-time basis, combining teaching with industry work. They are fully aware of the latest trends in their sector and teach it both in theory and in practice.
The teaching methodology is much more hands-on, interactive, and practical. This category of professors ultimately train students to be better prepared and offer insight into real-world markets. As a result, credible private schools venture overseas to gain programmatic accreditation and look for external supervision and global benchmarking.
