Why we use cookies

When you visit a website, it may store or retrieve information on your browser, primarily in the form of “cookies”. This information, which may be about your preferences, or your internet device (computer, tablet or mobile), is primarily used to operate the site as you wish. Information is generally not personally identifiable, but can be used to provide you with a more personalized web experience.

Because digital personal data is now finally considered at its true value and legislation has evolved, there are now solutions that we have implemented to allow you to choose whether or not to use certain types of cookies. Below, you can learn more about how we use cookies on this site, and prevent you from setting non-essential cookies.

Cookies required for operation

These cookies are strictly necessary to provide you with the services available on a website and to use some of its features, such as access to secure areas. Because these cookies are strictly necessary for the proper functioning of a site, they are not subject to consent. You can block or remove them by changing your browser settings, but doing so will affect the operation of the site.

Examples :

  • Remember if you have ever visited this website and remember your preferences
  • Remember if you closed popup messages for 30 days. This will help us avoid spamming our users. Without cookies, we would display popups each time a page is reloaded.
  • Keep you connected to the site
  • Save the products added to your cart (e-commerce)
  • This site does not allow to buy anything, nor to connect and not diffusing popups, no cookie of functioning is deposited. On the other hand, the site host (OVH) sets 2 cookies, for performance optimization purposes. No personal data is collected. These 2 cookies are valid for one hour.

We also use cookies to store your cookie preferences. No personal data is collected there either. These cookies contain true or false according to your preferences. They are kept for 12 months.

Youtube cookies

We use Youtube to post videos on our website. These cookies support video functionality and delete them can prevent videos from being viewed.

This cookie collects IP addresses and tracks your online activities over time and on various websites or other online services by collecting video viewing information on our website automatically. These technologies can “recognize” you on the different devices you use, such as a desktop or mobile computer, your smartphone or tablet.

Third parties (advertisers) use this information to provide advertisements about products and services tailored to your interests. These ads can appear on other websites or mobile applications from any of your devices.

Note that at no time do we have access to the information collected by these cookies but we may use them in aggregate through Google’s advertising platform to offer videos similar and/or complementary to those you might have viewed on this site. This process also allows us to manage and monitor the effectiveness of our marketing efforts.

Analytics cookies

We use the Google Analytics service. The tool collects information allowing us to understand the interactions with our website, to refine this experience by improving the site but also and especially to better understand our visitors (you!). For example :

  • Which themes are the most popular? (to produce more content)
  • What are the best sources of traffic?  (to understand where we need to make the most marketing efforts)
  • How many of our visitors contact us? Visit our social profiles? After seeing what pages? Where did they come from? Are they on mobile or on computer? Are they young or old?

Being able to answer these questions will help us not only to offer you a better experience but also to invest in attracting the right people in an informed way.

Let us be clear: we are not interested in the data of each individual visitor. And anyway, we don’t have access to it. On the other hand, the aggregate data of all our visitors helps us and is valuable for the reasons mentioned above.

Please note that this is not personal information in the true sense of the word. At no time do we have your email address, your name, your age, your address, etc….

At best (with your consent, to be given or not just below), we have estimates of age ranges, geographical distributions, types of devices used, a measure of actions carried out on our site (beyond simply the pages consulted). We can for example know if you have viewed a video, downloaded a document, clicked on a specific link, etc…. But again, we will know it in aggregate, never personally.

By default, without your consent, we have set Google Analytics to collect only basic site usage information. What pages? What sources of traffic? That’s as far as it goes. By refusing the consent below, this cookie (valid for 12 months) will nevertheless be placed on your browser, since the law allows us to do so.

(Note that you have the option to block or remove them by changing your browser settings or installing the browser add-on for Google Analytics deactivation.

However, by giving your consent, the cookie will also be deposited but the information we have enriched. We will then be able to analyse in an aggregated way (never individually, and that does not interest us) who are our visitors who have the most value. We will be able to make a global profiling and thus continue to make contents which please but also if we wish it and with other tools (quoted below), to make targeted advertisements towards relevant people. Either you, because you have visited this site and allowed these features, or people with relatively close interests.

By default, and in accordance with the law, these additional features are not enabled without your consent. Therefore, please indicate your choice:

Google Optimize cookie

Google Optimize is a test and experiment platform. In particular, we use it to test page variants against each other. At random, 50% of visitors will see variant A and the other half will see variant B. After a sufficient number of visits, we see which page is the best to keep only this one.

This allows us to improve the experience on the site but also to learn about our audience. The more we understand her, the better we can please her.

Google Optimize uses Analytics cookies to “identify” visitors of different variants in order to 1) count them and allow us to compare and 2) ensure that a returning visitor will see the same page. There is therefore no data about you that is collected.

As a reminder, you can give or resume your consent to the use of Google Analytics’ advanced features (including Optimize) at any time by clicking on the links above.
