Prof. Dr. Petra Maria Asprion is Professor of Digital Trust at the FHNW School of Business in Basel, Switzerland, where he currently serves as Head of the Competence Centre Digital Trust. His research focuses on how organizations and societies can harness digital technologies securely, responsibly, and effectively. Her work spans Trusted Digital Systems, Information & Cybersecurity, Data Governance & Sovereignty, AI and Frontier Technologies, Risk, Compliance & Digital Assurance, Digital Transformation & Capability Building, Digital Governance & Ethics, and Digital Resilience.

Before joining FHNW in 2016, she was Professor of Governance, Risk and Compliance and Head of the MSc Business Informatics program at the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH). She earned her PhD at the University of Bern, where he subsequently lectured and conducted research in the fields of information systems and digital governance.

Prior to her academic career, she held senior management and leadership positions in consulting, industry, and the public sector. At PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), she served as Senior Manager for Systems and Process Assurance and Audit. Earlier, he led global SAP security initiatives at Hoerbiger AG and managed secure IT processes and privileged access programs at Bosch GmbH in Germany and the United States.

Combining more than two decades of practical and academic experience, her work bridges technology, governance, cybersecurity, risk management, and organizational transformation, with a particular focus on fostering trusted, secure, and resilient digital ecosystems
