With over four decades at the intersection of technology and business, Dr. Vincenzo Pallotta brings a rare combination of academic rigor and entrepreneurial edge to doctoral supervision.
Trained as a computer scientist with a PhD at EPFL and a MSc at the University of Pisa, and having started his career as software engineer at IBM, he has built a rich intellectual journey spanning Artificial Intelligence, Computational Linguistics, Business Intelligence and Digital Transformation publishing over 100 peer-reviewed articles and four books along the way.
Dr. Pallotta’s research and teaching career has been anchored in understanding how organizations navigate technological disruption, redesign their processes and unlock new value through digital tools. As a Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at HEIG-VD, he helps executives and scholars alike develop the analytical frameworks needed to lead meaningful digital transformation not just implement technology, but rethink organizations from the ground up.
From early work in computational logic and natural language processing to contemporary applications in customer interaction analytics and business intelligence, Vincenzo has followed and contributed to the evolution of AI for over forty years as a software engineer, research scientist and entrepreneur.
As an Expert at InnoSuisse, Switzerland’s federal innovation agency, Dr. Pallotta evaluates and supports cutting-edge innovation projects at the highest national level. He also trains and coaches university spin-off founders through the InnoSuisse Entrepreneurship Program Business Concept in Yverdon-les-bains. This hands-on involvement in the Swiss innovation ecosystem gives his supervisory work a distinctive and uniquely practical edge.
