Professional Career
I am a fractional executive and business consultant dedicated to helping mission-driven organizations thrive. My work focuses on strategic planning, governance, and process improvement, supporting both nonprofit and for-profit entities as they navigate growth and change.
I began my career with the U.S. Coast Guard, where I coordinated international partnerships and managed high-stakes diplomatic initiatives. That experience instilled in me a deep appreciation for strategic leadership and complex problem-solving skills that have been invaluable throughout my career. Over the past two decades, I have led and advised nonprofits through critical transitions. My expertise lies in strengthening leadership structures, improving financial sustainability, and fostering inclusive decision-making.
Beyond my consultancy work, I am deeply committed to supporting marginalized women+ entrepreneurs. Through pro-bono coaching and mentorship as well as volunteer work and board service, I help create pathways for underrepresented founders to build and sustain successful businesses.
Research Interest
I am deeply interested in how decision making styles shape the effectiveness of institutions. I am particularly curious about how balancing perspectives can lead to stronger institutions, improved leadership dynamics, and more inclusive decision-making processes. By examining these themes, I aim to contribute to the broader understanding of organizational governance and strategic leadership.
Research Specialty
My research specializes in the impact of consensus-based decision making on nonprofit educational institutions, with a focus on organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and financial sustainability. Drawing on both practical experience and empirical data, I analyze how consensus-driven governance structures influence an organization’s ability to innovate, adapt to change, and maintain fiscal health. My work will provide evidence-based strategies for improving decision-making processes, bridging the gap between theoretical frameworks and real-world applications to enhance institutional resilience and long-term success.
Statement of Motivation for a DBA
I’m driven by intellectual curiosity and a desire to deepen my understanding of business theory and practice. I am eager to engage with complex ideas, contribute to meaningful research, and refine my ability to make data-driven, strategic decisions.
Beyond contributing to academic knowledge, I view this program as an opportunity for personal and professional growth. I look forward to strengthening my research skills, gaining new insights, and serving with greater depth and effectiveness.
