What led to your interest in business?
Prior to this Master Programme, I did my Bachelor Degree in International Hospitality Management at École hôtelière de Lausanne. There, I came across many business related subjects, and I have always thought that these subjects were very interesting. However, I wanted to expand my horizon beyond the hospitality industry.
Brand manager of a global organization has always interested me as a compelling career path. Therefore, it is important for me to obtain a solid knowledge about International Business.
Why did you decide to join BSL?
First, I gained quite a broad business foundation during my Bachelor studies and I was looking for Masters Degree that would allow me to dig deeper into the business related subjects. Second, the small classes seem to be the most effective way to increase my knowledge. Besides, I really like the fact that all professors have a lot of real life experiences. Lastly, I decided to join BSL because of the possibility to do a specialization within the master program.
How has your experience been so far?
Very good. The subjects are very relevant and it is interesting to hear about all the real life experiences from our professors. The professors also pay a lot of personal attention to students, which is great because you gain a lot more knowledge on the subjects that you find personally interesting. The professors, also, have outspoken opinions that sometimes differ from each other. This is very interesting as you continuously get to see things from different perspectives and gets to challenge the ‘status quo’.
BSL makes me constantly challenge the status quo and gives me profound knowledge to form a strong opinion about business related subjects that matter now and in the future.
What are you passionate about? How will you bring your passion to your work in the future?
I am very passionate about travelling, a healthy life style and creative design. I would look for a job that enables me to travel for business. Furthermore, I would love to find a job that allows me to be creative and gives me a certain freedom to take initiative.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to own a vineyard in South Africa.
Who or what inspires you?
It inspires me to see relatively young people doing what they love, going after their goals and making them happen.
How do you see your professional future in 5 years from now? What will you be doing?
I could see myself in a high brand management position of a multinational.
If you could make one significant change to the world, what would it be?
I would like to see less action out of self-interest and more collaboration between individuals and social groups.
